A lovingly hand-crafted EP of five Flemish-flavoured songs inspired by Nigel's time living and working in his former home - Belgium.
On the opening track 'Hoor Je Mij?' The Low Countries capture a classic - Nederlandstalig - acoustic chanson sfeer.
'Low Country' is their chilled out, late-night brown cafe ode to friendship & the legendary Antwerpse Muziekdoos bar.
'Gent!' finds Nigel & Els in lo-fi indie-pop mode as they extol the virtues of Belgium's best kept secret City- from Lamb of God to Kinky Bar...
'Close To My Heart' is a heartfelt acoustic call-out from across the water.
The EP closes with the only song recorded in Vlaanderen: 'Come Back'. Featuring Els on Ekeren upright piano and good vibes. Mellow and heart-tugging.

The Low Countries zijn Nigel & Els, een Anglo-Vlaams indie-folk duo uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Zij brachten eerder al vier albums uit bij Nub Country Records & Van Steene Music Publishing Ltd, met airplay op o.a BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Lancashire, Folk Radio UK en Dandelion Radio.

Het openingsnummer ‘Hoor Je Mij?’ is een Nederlandstalige akoestische chanson over Vlaanderen, geschreven een gezongen door een Engelsman die vaststelt dat hij toch zo nu en dan heimwee heeft naar het vlakke land.

‘Low Country’ is een chilled-out, laat in den avond ,ode aan vrienden & het legendarische Antwerpse muziekcafe De Muziekdoos.

‘Gent!’ vindt Nigel & Els in lo-fi indie-pop mode in een tribute aan Europa’s coolste Stad,
het Lam God inbegrepen!
