Orbison, Roy Orbison, when I’m lonely just like you I like awake and contemplate, to the voice of Blue Bayou The nights I’ve found that you surround me So many times you’ve helped me through, helped me through Crawling Back, a familiar track, when there’s nowhere to begin A neon light, and a warm still night, somehow fits the mood I’m in A world of dreams, blue-tescent themes Give this lonely soul a thrill To sing like you what wouldn’t I do? But I know nobody will, no one will, no one will Orbison, Roy Orbison, when I’m lonely just like you I like awake and contemplate, to the voice of Blue Bayou

about

My Nub Records debut

Some reviews:

"For a band that quotes fermented hops as their first influence can't be bad in my books...this one, The Low Countries, just keeps growing on me. Indie folk at it's best with a home-grown realism about it...I love it and yes I do recommend drinking fermented hops when you have a listen...just to get you into the mood! There are a lot of influences quoted in reviews I've read but there's no need, they have their own sound and can stand on their own, that's unique these days. We will be hearing more of them, I'm sure of it!

Favourite tracks: Leaning in the Ways of Love, Hole in my Heart, Drown

Fok Radio UK"

"Next up is The Low Countries new album – Hypericum Perforatum – released on Nub Country Records. And indeed, Nigel Parrington (the face behind the name) blends Byrds-type-stylings with James-Yorkston's folk sensibility has a similar effect to the Latin term for St John's Wort used in the title.

The harmonica refrain on Learning in the Waves (sic) of Love is Dylan-simple and immediately forces a smile on your chops. Parrington has a great ear for melody and knows how to craft radio-friendly summery folk-pop.
